97. Cosmetics Consumerism
I told myself that I wouldn't buy any more makeup until it became necessary (though, is it ever necessary?). I had to fix my phone and in the 30 minute window they gave me, I decided to hit up the Bobbi Brown counter at Nordstrom's, a Sephora, and a MAC store. I can't help myself.
I have a mini nail polish from a Sephora x OPI collab that has since been discontinued. I have been on a hunt to find a similar shade and this Sally Hansen 'Greige' looked similar so I will be testing it out. I also bought a Bobbi Brown blush in 'Apricot'. I have been wanting to try some Bobbi Brown makeup products, more specifically their brushes. I don't have many blushes so I figure this pink red blush would be perfect since I don't have anything similar. Lastly, I bought a Tarte Amazonian Clay blush in 'Exposed'. I have been wearing red and wine colored lipsticks and have found that my pink and wine color blushes make me look like a clown rather than a diva. I hope this blush in it's brown pink pigment can help me pull of the perfect everyday red look!
I received the Benefit 'Groovy Kind-a Love! Makeup Kit' for Christmas. Although it had a lot of sample size pieces, there were 4 eyeshadows and a blush that were in a pan. I figured that the eyeshadows were the same size as MAC eyeshadows. I was right! I then bought a 15-pan MAC eyeshadow palette to place the Benefit eyeshadows in. I also bought a couple of new eyeshadows that I have had my eye on. When I got home, however, I found that a lot of my eyeshadows were really similar. I may have to exchange a couple of my MAC eyeshadows for colors that aren't so similar. In the quad, I have (top letf going clockwise) Satin Taupe, Sable, Patina, and a Benefit shadow. In the 15 pan, I have MAC Era, Naked Lunch, and the rest are from my Benefit palette. The last shadow, the purple, is MAC Sketch.
